My daughter turns 16 in November, and in lieu of a party has asked for a mother/daughter weekend in NYC. She has been before on a class trip so she’s seen Times Square and the common tourist attractions. Anything else we’d need to see or do? How do I find a decent hotel that won’t cost $500/night? We’ll be flying in on a Saturday and out on a Sunday so time isn’t on our side. Any insight is appreciated.

i have family visiting from Ireland to new york city, they have all been here numerous times so have all seen the usual ny stuff, so i was wondering if anyone knows of cool/fun/interesting/good places to visit outside of the city. we are renting a car so anywhere under 2ish hours drive is good????
