Some buddies and I are planning a weekend guys trip to Chicago to take in some Cubs games at Wrigley and we’re trying to determine the best part of town/hotel to stay. We’d like to be close to Wrigley, I guess, but more than that we’d like to have access to some good bars. Any suggestions?

What make Chicago such a great city to visit or live in?

I’ve heard that Chicago is a really cool and fun city to visit from several people and I was wondering what makes it so? I don’t know much about it but I’ve always disliked places that are completely flat with no hills or mountains so i guess i never took the time to think about visiting Chicago but now I am more interested. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and havel lived in San Diego for the past 6 years. I love it here and all the things to do and see here, can anyone whose lived or visited both places maybe tell me the differences and similarities between the two? I like cities and urban areas so what is it about Chicago that makes it such a great city? Aside from it’s famous skyline and some history I really don’t know much about it. Is the nightlife really fun? What are some interesting things to do? museums, theater, art shows, ect.. don’t really interest me either. So hopefully someone can describe what makes this place worth visiting b/c I’m curious
Also what the hell do people do there during winter? Do people do things outside at all or do they spend it indoors for months? I’ve never lived in a cold climate and wouldn’t know what to expect. I’ve spent a week or two at a time in the mountains with cold and snow but never a long time.
