China in an effort to respond to the swine flu crisis with alacrity is ensuring any possible victims of the virus are quarantined! What is more, to Chinese officials, it doesn’t matter how influential you are as even the Mayor of New Orleans (not showing any ill-effects or symptoms) was confined to quarantine on his visit to Shanghai. The mayor, it was felt, was potentially exposed to someone suffering with a flu-like illness and so was placed into quarantine as a precaution.
