What is the better city for a 2 day trip: Paris or Amsterdam?

I am going on a 2 day trip and I am looking for PARTY, SHOPPING, GOOD FOOD and NICE PEOPLE. What would be the better city to visit to get all those things?
I know it is always a bit of personal preferences, but maybe it helps a bit.

The only reason to go to Amsterdam is if you want to do drugs. (Marijuana, etc..) I’ve been a couple of times (when I used to party) and other than that, the architecture and language is pretty interesting as well. Paris, on the other hand is a beautiful city with lots of shopping ( much better than Amsterdam), beautiful people, and a lot of cultural flavor. I must caution you however, if you don’t try to speak a little French while you are there the people can be rude to foreigners. I’ve been a few times and thoroughly enjoyed myself. As far as the food goes, Paris wins…Hands Down!
As you are going for 2 days, Amsterdam. For Paris you will need more time to see everything properly.
The comment about Amsterdam only being good for drugs could not be further from the truth. In fact, it will be even more pleasant when they close down the brothels and the coffee shops.
I agree with the post above, you would need MUCH MORE time to really enjoy Paris. I would go to Amsterdam. Personally I wasn’t really all about Amsterdam, the place was pretty and the people were nice, but it was a bit too crazy for my taste, and Im use to Vegas. But with 2 days and having to pick between those two cities I would go with Amsterdam.
I also agree..Paris needs more time to explore…2 days would be perfect for Amsterdam. There are parties, shopping, nice people in Amsterdam….good food…well I did not find much bad food in europe.
Amsterdam is a small city and you can see more of it in 2 days than you would Paris. Its also nice to walk around too.
