There are plenty of nice hotels downtown and on West End. You could go and see a musical performance at the Ryman Auditorium. (The Ryman is an old church turned concert hall. Very small and personal. Love to go to shows there!) Just walking around downtown, having a picnic near the river or on the lawn of the capitol building can be quite romantic. The Palm restaurant downtown is quite and very good - can be on the expensive side. I like Italian food, so i would also recommend Amerigo's. Depending on your idea of 'romantic' - it can also be fun to experience the nightlife a bit and cram yourselves into one of the honky-tonk bars on Broadway and enjoy a few drinks and rock-a-billy music. It's HUGE, and there's so much to do (inside and outside the hotel). Another good option is the Millennium Maxwell House, and it's close to lots of things, too.
