Orlando Getaways to the Sun

August 31st, 2009 — 11:33 pm

Ask some kids (and big kids) where they would like to go on their travels instead of anywhere else on the planet, and I will guarantee that the top reply will always be the unchanged – Disney World in Florida. Regardless of whether you are questioning an infant or a 16 year old, the renowned destination and it’s flagship Epcot Center have been a firm favourite for many seasons. The Walt Disney magic that we all see on the TV in our youth and beyond has its unique own home in the extreme corner of the United States, and you can be sure that’s one of the only nine hour flights children can not whinge about!

Regrettably, the cost of the journey to America is obstructive for a large number of families – a return flight to Orlando International Airport might balloon into several thousand pounds for a a normal family, so break time school yard conversations about the annual trip to the Sunshine State might be faced with awe and daydreaming.

The overnight opportunities are vast in the Florida temperatures, choose from low cost and simple fly drive approaches where you can buy vouchers to pay as you go in hotel like premises, spanning all the way up to the state of the art selection of accomodation within the Disney Complex, which will be priced as much, if not more than the air ticket.

There is as always a reasonable debate that this is an experience of your lifetime – so it may be worth giving very real consideration to whether to pay a little more and get the entire Orlando experience. Although the living cost isn’t as low out there as it once was, it is still very competitive compared to UK prices. Repeatedly English holidaymakers will eat out each mealtime – the junk food joints are nearly everywhere in tourist areas – and on main routes, every 50 paces.

It’s certainly true to comment that most parents would love to be able to take their kids to Disney – it is a sort of travel activity of dreams with it’s famous Everest ride, so if all thats stopping you from taking your children there is dirty cash, then maybe it’s time to try something else and you could get lucky with a Orlando getaway prize draw – there’s plenty out there!

Learn About Cruise Holidays : Cruises In Hawaii

August 31st, 2009 — 01:09 pm

We look at Hawaii in this installment of our cruise holidays guide…

Experiencing a Hawaii cruise is a dream come true for many people around the world. Sailing far out into the amazing Pacific Ocean on a luxury cruise seeking an Eden like paradise that is the Hawaiian islands is something only a select few travel adventures can obtain. And it’s such a paradise, too! Golden sunsets, sun-drenched sands and palm trees swaying in the warm gentle breeze await all who take a Hawaiian cruise.

For American and Canadian citizens, Hawaii cruises depart from numerous seaports along the west coast of North America. Vancouver, Seattle and San Diego are the main ports of departure to Hawaii, although several of the other ports up and down the coastline offer cruise services to Hawaii too.

Most Hawaiian destination cruises are round-trip last anywhere from 15-18 days and you will visit Hawaii’s main island along with a few of her smaller ones. But you can always pay for a one-way trip to Hawaii on a cruise ship and then fly to your next destination from her international airport.

Lots of companies have longer Hawaii cruise vacations too, lasting 25-30 days or even longer. These extended cruises offer a great choice for people who want to have a more intense adventure once they reach Hawaii, and for people who’d like to spend more time on the neighboring islands of Lanai, Maui, Kauai and Oahu.

Besides lying on the deck by the pool and sunbathing on Hawaii’s beautiful beaches, there are numerous shore excursions on a Hawaii cruise that will satisfy even very restless travelers. Explore the dormant volcanoes in the small Kilauea crater or become more adventurous and find the amazing Mauna Kea. If this doesn’t sound like a good time then you can always tour the skies with a helicopter or plane ride to view Hawaii’s lush landscapes from a different perspective.

And if you want to learn more about Hawaii’s impact on the world, visit her sugar or pineapple plantations. If you are into water sports, there are various types, you can even take a submarine into the depths and explore over 25 acres of coral reef the area boasts.

Dont Go Without Holiday Insurance

August 31st, 2009 — 01:06 pm

Everybody looks forward to their annual vacations. As our vacation time draws closer we’ll start to count the days until we pack our holiday clothes and head off for a week or two in the sun.

There are unfortunately many people who take their families away on holiday without thinking about the need for holiday insurance. This is particularly true for those who don’t arrange their holidays through a travel agent. Travel agencies will generally remind people of the need for holiday insurance but even when they do many people take out the cheapest policy possible which can often be inadequate for many circumstances.

The key reason that many people don’t take out adequate holiday insurance cover is that they don’t expect they will need it. Nobody expects to have an accident, to need medical attention or that they will be the victim of crime. Its an unfortunate fact of life that emergencies do arise and when they occur abroad they can be incredibly expensive. For example, if the worst was to happen and you needed to be flown home to the UK it could set you back many thousands of pounds. From the USA the cost of repatriation by air ambulance is estimated to be between £35K and £45K and from the Canary Islands the cost could be between £12K and £16K.

Unfortunately, while nobody plans for disasters problems can occur and imagine that you had to pay the cost of an expensive air ambulance yourself?

Although I’ve never had cause to claim for medical expenses from my own holiday insurance I have, on two occasions, had to claim for items that were stolen or lost. On one occasion my expensive camera was stolen from my baggage while on a train in India. And on another occasion my suitcase was completely lost by the airline when I flew to Italy.

These incidents highlight another key reason to make certain that you have adequate holiday insurance cover. Having your personal possessions stolen while on holiday is bad enough but it can be a lot worse if you don’t have adequate insurance cover.

Always be sure to read the details of your holiday insurance policy as there are always exclusions that you really need to be aware of. For example, did you know that most holiday insurance policies will not cover drink or drug related incidents?

It is worth remembering that cheaper policies will tend to offer less cover than the more expensive ones. Always be certain that the policy provides adequate cover before being tempted by the cheapest insurance policy available.

You can often save money by looking at annual multi-trip insurance or by looking at group insurance policies for your whole family. If there is one travel expense that should be absolutely essential it is the need for adequate holiday insurance cover.

Obtaining A Jet Charting Membership Card

August 28th, 2009 — 06:32 am

last minute flight deals

Are you interested in chartering a private jet? If you are, there is a good chance that you have already done a little bit of research online. When examining the online websites of private jet chartering companies, did you come across something that is referred to as a membership plan or a membership card?  Since many private jet chartering companies offer these types of plans, there is a good chance that you have seen them before.Ever wonder why you should join a membership program?  If you have, you are definitely not alone.

When it comes to joining a jet chartering membership program, there are many individuals who wonder if they should join, but even more individuals wonder what they are. Although it is not uncommon to find these types of membership plans available online, it is somewhat difficult to learn what they are. There seems to be a perception among the jet chartering companies that expect consumers to know all about their membership plans. Some people unfortunately choose to not join a membership program when they can benefit from doing so.

When looking to lean more about private jet chartering membership cards, it is best if you compare it to something that you know or are familiar with, like grocery store savings cards. If you sign up for a grocery store savings card, you are given extra benefits just for being considered a member.  These benefits may include specials deals or savings, newsletters, and much more.  The same can be said for a private jet chartering membership.  Should you choose to sign up for a membership, you will be given extra perks; perks that not all travelers have access to.  Just a few of these extra member benefits are outlined below.

One of the many benefits to joining a private jet chartering membership plan is the option of making your reservations at the last minute.  For regularly travelers, it is not uncommon for a company to request that reservations be placed at least forty-eight hours in advance.  With a jet chartering membership, you are given a little bit more flexibility.  Many jet chartering companies allow their members to make their reservations up to twelve hours beforehand.  This extra perk is nice if you are business owner or business executive who regularly finds yourself making last minute hotel deals for meetings.

The ease of use is another benefit when joining a private jet chartering company. When you join a membership program, a special account is created for you. This account will likely hold all of your travel information, like your address, your billing information, your jet preferences, and so on.This type of membership should be able to save you a good amount of time when it comes time to booking a private jet charter.  If you have a membership card that allows you to place deposits on it, you may be able to have your reservations processed and paid for in no time at all.  In fact, that is one of the many reason why members are often given the option to make last minute flight deals arrangements.

The decision as to whether or not you want to join a private jet chartering membership club or plan is yours to make, but it is something that is worth looking into. If you have any questions or concerns about the program, you are advised to contact a company representative for more information.

Tracy L asked:

I was charged with an offense when I was 17 but due to the drawn-out proceedings I was not sentenced until I was 18 and now it is on my permanent record. My time (probation) has been served and I have been out of trouble for a long time now. However, I wish to visit France to gain culinary experience towards my apprenticeship. Will I still be able to go? What about obtaining a work visa?
