Best and most romantic place to visit in New York City?

Shelly Winters asked:

I’ve never visited New York City ever. My boyfriend lives in Brooklyn and he is wanting me to visit to get the feel of the city before relocating myself half way across the nation. In this though he also asked if there was any place in particular I wanted to visit. I know that New York City can be a very romantic (along with crude) place. I was just wanting some input.

Go Shopping In London, England

February 26th, 2009 — 02:33 pm

The capital city of England, London, is as well known for its exciting shopping as it is for its varied culture and long history People from all ’round the globe fly to London to enjoy the incredible selection of departments stores, specialist markets and boutique stores. With the weak £ and the strong $ US citizens will find goods are far cheaper as in recent years, equally so for those people traveling from Europe because the Pound is also struggling against the Euro.

Well Known London Department Stores

Probably the most famous London department store is Harrods department store in Knightsbridge the largest department store on the planet having about 18,000 m2 of floor space.  The Harrods motto is ‘Omnia Omnibus Ubique’  meaning all things for all people, everywhere’. Harrods has long been associated with luxury and exclusivity and most well known are the toy department and food hall

Another store worthy of a mention is Selfridges.  Found on Oxford Street, the store first opened for business in 1909. Named after, and built by the American entrepreneur Gordon Selfridge the department store was purposely designed in order that items on sale were easily accessible to buyers which was a drastic departure from the common practices of the day.

The Best Places To Go Shopping In London

Covent Garden has built a superb reputation for its unusual and specialist shops and is generally accepted as a hip place to be seen. Besides the fascinating stores you will also discover a reasonable number of eating places and restaurants in Covent Garden.

Camden Market is another popular market in London. Even though there have been markets of various types in Camden at various times the present market began business in 1974. The market at Camden is actually a collection of adjoining markets together providing an amazing variety of wares.

London Streets Well Known For Shopping

The main high street in Chelsea is the Kings Road which is one of London’s most stylish and chic streets on which to shop. The Kings Road was popular for clothes in the Sixties and Seventies and is closely associated with the Punk movement, in more recent years the Kings Road is much more subdued but still worth a visit.

Sloane Street is another London road with a strong association with shopping which takes its name from Sir Hans Sloane who owned much of the surrounding area in the eighteenth century.

Shopping Trips To London

Getting to London is incredibly easy, being the nation’s capital transport links are superb and the London underground rail network makes everywhere easy to reach.

Chauffeur Services – Why They Often Give Good Value For Money

February 24th, 2009 — 06:08 pm

No matter the reason one chooses to use a chauffeur, the bottom line is that at the end of the day one will doubtlessly reckon that it was money and time well spent.

A chauffeur may come in handy for various reasons. A good excuse would be that one is in a foreign country and therefore does not know how to make one’s way around. During important business trips where one is required to present some information that is crucial to the survival of their business it would be practical to stay away from the distractions involved in driving oneself or using public utility vehicles or a taxi cab.

In addition, chauffeured vehicles will be of great help to people attending an event where making a good impression is as important as the function itself. Such functions would include weddings, company parties, a visit to one’s hometown or a reunion of old friends to name a few.

A chauffeur’s key task is to drive, although there is way more to this occupation than merely having good driving skills. This job requires strong customer service and he or she will strive to make the customer’s trip the most comfortable one they can experience. Chauffeurs will be at home with roads and directions so they can get you, as the client, to the destination in the most efficient way. Their local knowledge means that they can also act as tour guides like the company at the chauffeur driven car hire london site.

Obtaining the services of a chauffeur will usually be effortless. Such service providers will most definitely go to a great extent to make known their existence. Pertinent information can be obtained by viewing advertisements on the web or via stickers found in public places. Should one run into difficulties they can always resort to the phone directory.

John M asked:

What do you think is the best city in Australia to live in and the best vity in Australia to visit.

The best city in Australia i would have to say to live in is defenitely Perth and even though it’s the most isloated city in the world which ***** and it is pretty obring and there is not much to see and do and it is now the most expensive city in Australia to live in it is still by far the nicest city in Australia to live in in terms of standards of living.

Perth is a beautiful laidback freindly and relaxed city with lots of beautiful beaches and scenery and it is by far the cleanest biggest city in Australia, and while it is not one of the safest cities in Australia it is still alot safer then Sydney and Darwin which are the most dangerous cities in Australia.

It also has the best health care system in Australia, and in a few weeks time i will be going back home there and i am very much looking forward to it and it will get to see my family there again.
Especially since i have been away overseas travelling and staying with other family in England and America for the past 6 months.

Anway Perth to me Perth is by far tyhe best city in Australia to live in and now for the city in Australia which i think is the best to visit i would say it is defenitely Melbourne because there is so much to see and do in Melbourne such as the Rialto building which is onje of the tallest buildings in the world the MCG the west gate bridge and the imax theatre and there are lots of trams to catch smd there is a nice big shopping mall there aswell as the Yarra river and the Casino complex which has fountains that ****** out from the ground.

So anyway thats what i think, what do you think is the nicest city in Australia to live in and which do you think is the nicest city in Australia to visit.

Best Places To Retire In Asia – Malaysia

February 23rd, 2009 — 08:06 pm

Asia Retirement

Asia is a great retirement option for those seeking affordable yet comfortable living, without compromising on natural beauty, entertainment and great food. Malaysia could be the place you’ve been dreaming about. If you’re not familiar with it, Malaysia is situated on the lower part of the Malay peninsula, just north of Singapore.

East Malaysia is about 400 miles from the mainland. Peninsular Malaysia is more developed, with all of the major cities, and East Malaysia is where you will find large expanses of jungle, many rivers, and some of the best diving in Southeast Asia.

Many people will find that Malaysia offers many places to live and some places just to visit for a few days.  If you want to retire to Asia, Malaysia is as good a place as any.

Malaysia was a British colony until 1957, and has existed in it’s present form since 1963. English is spoken widely, although many other languages are spoken as well – various dialects of Chinese, Tamil (a south Indian language), Malayalam (another South Indian Language) and the national language, Bahasa Malaysia.

Malaysia is blessed with a pleasant, warm climate, inviting shorelines of white sands skirted by crystal clear waters. Lots of public and private hospitals, recreational/entertainment facilities and developed and quality education system are also available.

Malaysia offers a low cost, tropical paradise to retirees. The monsoon season generally runs from December to March, and hits the East Coast hardest- although rain is year round. It can be very hot in northern Malaysia in the summer, and temperatures in the low-lying areas generally reach into the low 90sF at their hottest.

Crime is low but if helps to take the proper safety precautions. The best advice is "Don't Do Drugs!" in Malaysia. The people are very friendly.  This alone makes it one of the best places to retire in Asia.

You may think a US citizen visiting a Muslim country might experience some ill will, but if you show respect for the local cultures and religions it should rarely be a problem. You can see signs like the head scarves being worn by women that show Malaysia has Islamic roots.

People who want a little adventure in their retirement years, while still enjoying a decent standard of living would like living here. If you love food, you will love eating in Malaysia as you can savor tons of different dishes. Same with those people who have decent health and who want to keep it that way by being active and curious.

Things are cheap in Malaysia so you do not need large retirement savings to live well here.

Fortunately Malaysia has an exceptionally low cost of living and is aided by a tax regime that is most welcoming to foreigners.  This is a good reason to retire in Malaysia.

Another reason why some people want to retire in Malaysia is that it has superb healthcare facilities and highly-skilled medical practitioners. Yet medical expenses and insurance can be very cheap and affordable compare to other countries.

Malaysia’s cultural mosaic is marked by multinational traditions, originating from China, India, the Middle East, Europe, and the entire Malay Archipelago.

New cultural influences from Europe and China mixed with Hindu and Islamic traditions later in history. A collective but distinctively Malay cultural pattern has emerged from this blend. It is reflected in literature, music, dance, and art forms.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia, where more than a million work and reside, and functions as the center of Malaysia’s political, commercial and social life. It is a city of delightful contrasts. The favorable climate accounts for the lush greenery and profusion of tropical blooms in a riot of colors. The end result is a unique blend of age-old customs and traditions; colorful festivals, songs and dances and a rich variety of foods to tempt the palate.

Credit cards and travelers cheques are accepted at larger establishments. Most banks readily accept foreign currencies like the US Dollar, Pound Sterling, Yen, Deustchmark and Franc for exchange into Malaysian Ringgit.
