what is the best 2 day Europe trip in January?

trip to europe
Dawn asked:

Hi, I am visiting my boyfriend in England for a week. While there, we’re going to take a short trip (2 nights) somewhere else in Europe. Any ideas? I’ve done a lot of research, but it seems that most of Europe hibernates during the winter. We want a city that we will have a great time, easily accessible, and is a lot of fun even during January. THanks!

If you are staying in England I would say maybe Liverpool, for the great sites you could see and visit. Other than that, yea, Europe basically hibernates at this time of year. I’m not sure what you and your boyfriend are into, and I don’t know where you are staying, but if you are staying on the west side of the country, I would say Manchester or Liverpool would be your best bet.

All the people who live in Europe will go on with their lifes, also in January, so you will find more locals and less tourists.
Any of the popular city destinations will be lively enough.

I doubt you will really have the time to take time to go to Europe, but if you really want, search for a flight to one of the European cities. (Or if you are in the London area, a train.)
Amsterdam, Prague, Paris, Brugges, Bratislava, Budapest, Rome, and so on.
