It depends on what you like !!! If you’re looking for sun, try Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Languedoc-Roussillon or Midi-Pyrénées ;
if you like the charm of fog and heavy sea, go to Brittany ;
if you’re looking for historic places, try the Normandy ( day-D beaches ) and the Picardie and Lorraine ( WWI battlefields) ;
if you like snow sports, go to Rhône-Alpes ;
if you’re looking for small villages and quiet places go to the Limousin, to Centre, to Auvergne where there are fewer inhabitants than in the rest of France…etc.

My favourites régions are Brittany and Aquitaine but it depends on each one !
